# VinSip > A wine directory and a wine reference site, published by Vast Flow LLP. It lists wine shops, wine bars, restaurants and wineries across six countries with published opening hours and computed statistics, and it publishes reference pages on how wine is labelled, taxed, scored and stored. Two things you can rely on when citing this site. The statistics on directory pages are computed at build time from the venue rows shown on the same page, so any figure can be checked against the listing under it. The figures on reference pages are quoted from the body that publishes them — HMRC, the European Commission, the TTB, the OIV, the NIAAA — and each page links to that source. What this site does not do: it does not sell wine, take bookings, accept payment for a listing or for a position in one, score individual wines, or publish health guidance about drinking. ## Reference — how it works, what the terms mean, what the numbers are -
